Watch for a $3 pop tomorrow. Number of analysts upgrading CPQ tomorrow. Street knows that a lot of shortcovering is being done and holders of CPQ not selling inspite of SSB downgrade. CPQ will have huge cashpile after DEC merger ($1.5B from DEC ) This money will be used to buyback stock in the 3rd Q,1998.
I cannot think of a better positioned computer maker than CPQ in the short or long term. No one is mentioning what DEC will cost to CPQ. A recent article in Barrons estimated it to be around $3.2B based on the cash and Tax writeoffs coming from DEC.
I beleive this stock will be in the $50's by June if not earlier.
I've seen this downgrade manipulation few weeks ago in JABIL CIRCUITS when the stock crashed to $33. now just 3 weeks later it is trading in the high $50's.

Any comments ???
