I've commented on this before. I see no reason why Walsh should have called Ollie's wife--after all, spouses needn't testify one against the other, and if one chooses to do so perhaps we should suspect a vendetta--nor Ollie's minister. Why would the Big O have talked to his minister about Iran Contra? Silly.

Should Walsh have investigated Ollie's military record? Yes, but it seems he didn't get very far. Should he have checked out Ollie's use of government money to put in a rather costly security system at his home? Yes. Ollie's obviously pretty paranoid: he flatters himself if he thinks Ghaddafi really cares about him.

And to return to the point (not yours) about pathological liars: as I say, I've known a couple, and by God did Ollie remind me of 'em.
