X-

I don't have time, energy, or inclination to deal with all the idiocies posted on SI. I think I am as ready as anyone for a good discussion- check my record if you like. I don't find that Thommaso qualifies as a good discussant- why should I have to deal with his idiocies? As far as I'm concerned, he can post all he wants- just not to me. BTW, there has been discussion on SI of drawing up a code of conduct which would include, among other things, the stipulation that a poster not post another person who specifically requests that the poster not do so.

You may have more patience with slander and unsubstantiated insults directed your way than I do. More power to you. I don't like it, it wastes my time, and I don't think I should have to deal with as the price of admission for posting on SI.

As far as not being able to assess a poster on the basis of a small number of posts, there may be some merit to that argument. I would consider a public apology from someone as possibly being grounds to lift my personal ban on dealing with him.

This is getting to be a bit much!
