Whatever one thinks of Reagans policies and/or mental abilities, he was certainly a gentleman with dignity and class, IMO. I don't get emotional very often, but I'll never forget the moving address he gave to the nation after the space shuttle disaster. That one got to me. I liked him as a person and thought him a credit to the Office of the Presidency.

You've read that, and apparently you believe it. I don't, and I very much doubt whether most people who watched the embarrassing first debate with Mondale, or the truly painful videotaped testimony for Iran-Contra would, either.
