Stockman, I think there was an article saying coms is cutting those extra x2 modems' price drastically to clear them up. They even suggested you can buy one of them at $69 or so and then upgrade it yourself to the itu standard. And most likely you save a $100 doing that.

I don't see why the ISPs would choose not to upgrade now the standard is in place. The only problem is that the Kflex server side equipments may not be so easily upgradable and causing delays.

I think the major sales now should be OEM to the pc makers. I don't think anybody would buy a PC now with anything less than 56K-standard modem on it. And I also don't think buying a PC without a modem is a 'choice' these days.

3Com will probably lowers the price or offers a mfr rebate for exist x2 only modem. Since it is upgradable to x.90 free of charge, some buyers wouldn't mind to save some extra $$$ for little work.
