I believe DLJ has a "hold" on Bay and a "Buy" on cisco. Today's volume of over 6MM looks good, given that it was all up from the open price of $30. Only down 1/2 point on a generally down day for techs is not a reason to panic, IMO. Salomen Smith Barney crossed large block trades totalling about 750K shares today, so at least some of their clients still like Bay.

I hope someone has insight into what happened at DLJ conference today, although with half of the quarter's volume expected this month, I don't expect any analyst(or House) to go out on a limb for another few weeks proclaiming it is in the bag. The analysts' calls to resellers in a few weeks to check on sellthrough of the Accelar line will be key. Let's all keep our fingers crossed. I expect to stay under $35 until that issue becomes more clear.

Doug,

Back in the fall the DLJ cut his rating on Bay from a moderate buy to a buy (I think?) and he trimmed is F98 estimate by a penny (I think?). Ever since, DLJ has been nothing but trouble for this stock.

Wayde.
