You are RIGHT. You are really right.
You are absolutely right in every point.
Everyone should listen to you now.
Everyone should sell CPQ and DELL shares.
Jim, are you happy now?

(BTW, when was your last post on CPQ thread
before this "I am just SO right..." post?)

RE:January sales slow. (Read the channel was stuffed)

Why does this report say the exact opposite?

That sucking sound that retailers are hearing coming from Houston is not the
sound of PC merchandise being soaked up by RadioShack, says Michael
Larson, vice president of sales and marketing for Compaq's consumer
division: It is the sound of market share being gobbled up as Compaq's
consumer division has its biggest January ever.

Retailers have been complaining for weeks about an inability to get sufficient
Compaq PC inventory, and some were outraged at the signing of the
exclusive deal with RadioShack in January, in the midst of the product
shortfall.

...
Compaq's units sales increased 90.7 percent in January, relative to January
1997, and revenue was up 27.4 percent, according to audited retail sales
data from PC Data, Reston, Va.

<<January sales slow. (Read the channel was stuffed)
Competitive pricing. (Read Lower ASP's and a price war)
Lack of Visibility. (Read Back end loaded quarter)
Gross Margin Pressure (Read lower ASP's again)

Now where have we heard anything close to this ?

Did I say that CPQ stuffed the Channel in the 4th Q ?
Did I point out that Revenue in the 4th Q was light ?
Did I say that CPQ had an inventory problem ?
Did I say it was possible for CPQ (& DELL) to make the 4th Q but the 1st Q is when the $#^! would hit the Fan ?
Did I say that the Rally was unjustified IMO ?

So in a nut shell, it would appear that I was more or less on the money on just about every thing I talked about going into earnings.>>

Jim, do you really think what has been said today makes you right? What a dumba**! I'll start with the first point. You said "January sales slow." Who said that? It is totally false, as is the rest of your post. You have twisted the analyst's already weak comments even further toward your "predictions." Stop gloating and get a clue. All this short-term gibberish doesn't make you any less wrong than you were before. Sorry to rain on your (self-promoted) parade.

Jim Patterson... RE: "Well Gang This hurts."

I hoped you enjoyed reaffirming yourself.

Unfortunately you have so many Intel posts that it
no longer stores the infinite wisdom of your past
CPQ posts.

Your profile does say, "Some statements may be false or
misleading."

Are those the ones of today or the ones no longer stored?

Just Kidding - But when you come out of the blue and stand on a soap box and say, "I told you so", expect some teasing.
