Can this shelf offering be viewed as an indication of the possible forthcoming good news?

Don't they want to sell the shares at higher prices to generate more capital?

If they know there is bad news forthcoming, why do they bother to do a shelf offering?

Just a thought!

Kevin,
Re -- Guess AMD isn't going bankrupt or fabless any time soon.

After re evaluating AMD's prospects, I see it has tremendous potential in this high margin x86 market. Thus I see the tremendous dilution in shares to save AMD from bankruptcy. With the money they can very easily solve their yield problems by and capture 30% market share.
