Loki,
What's your take on the overall strategy being used by CPQ in the last year or so, ever since they started the under $1000 box entre, buying Tandem and now DEC, and offering upgrades on servers, and selectively slashing prices, etc.? In other words, what theoretical corporate ploy "explains" all the moves?

Doug

Hi Loki. Actually Stephen and I are pretty good "thread friends."
We just interpret things differently sometimes. If this is a war, I sure like our army (people) and weapons (products). Whatever this is, I still see both Dell and CPQ doing great. But now that Compaq is the total package and Dell is still just a boxmaker, I think they will have to make some moves in '98 or get left behind.
