Paul, I'm afraid I couldn't disagree with you more. If you look at the chart CSCO ASND LU COMS have wildly outperformed CS at virtually any point in time you want to pick. Only BAY seemed to be similar to CS until summer 97. The fact is that a company in this business that has negative share value growth over the past 5 years is a miserable failure. My feeling is that the situation will get worse not better. It may or may not rally from here, but, I'd be willng to bet that 2 or 3 years from now its not much better off than it is now and probably will be worse off. Competition is fierce, company's like CSCO and LU are powerhouses across the board, ASND and XYLN are still growing rapidly. Playing this short term may be profitable, long term there's no reason(products, history, mgmt) to believe that they will be a big player...
