It's God's design and creation. Future generations may be able to prevent diseases of the body and of the soul prior to birth. To me, that is one of the beauties of His creation! What a masterpiece! In other words, it's up to us to bring His work to fruition.>> I have to say something about what you posted. The whole creation was put under a curse by God after Adam's fall. The curse has caused many things. After the flood God said man would only live 80 years whereas they were living 600+ years before that. Things are breaking down. The scientists are learning about DNA and may be able to reverse some of the damage for the short term. But scientists only find out what God created and learn to do things with God's creation. Good and evil is not in DNA, it is in the spirit of man because of the fall. Evil is a spiritual disease cured by salvation in Jesus, not by manipulating DNA strands. It is the soul that is saved, the flesh profits nothing. James 1:14-15 explains the problem of evil in us. Because the body is not ruled by a righteous spirit it entices us with lusts in many ways, when we obey the lust then it is sin. Read what God said to Cain in Genesis 4:7. Sin is a new thing then and God tells Cain it is stalking him and Cain must master it. But he didn't. So scientists can do amazing things (it seems amazing to us) but God made it all and He did it perfectly. After Jesus returns the curse will be lifted, we will be given immortal bodies and reign with Jesus, no more problems. Bob

Let's see, not mainstream. Well, neither are mine. I find one Christian in 100 that I can truly talk to. Perhaps we are all the same in that respect. I believe God designed us to talk to Him, and maybe that's why talking to each other often leads to nothing but silly dispute. Mainstream is this: Jesus said if you love me you will keep my commandments. Ah. Sounds hard. What are His commandments? That I should love the Lord my God (The Father in Heaven to whom Jesus daily looked to for His every action) with all my heart and mind and strength. And then, when I did that properly, I should also love my neighbor as myself. That's interesting as there are things about me even I 'm not that crazy about, nor is the Lord, but I certainly have been assured that both He and His Father love me without qualification. Then the Lord asked us please to go tell others about Him, the Son of God sent to forgive our sins by His own death and resurrection. That's mainstream to me. The rest doesn't matter, unless the devil is really jerking you around and you don't even see it. You might ask the One True God if this happens, and if so, what can you do to stop it. Then you may become even more mainstream than you care to be now. I believe we have our boundaries. Even St. Francis, sent to the lepers, was at first utterly repulsed by the sight of them. But, that seemed to not last long, and although it is beyond my understanding, there were beautiful whole people under all those sores that only Francis could see. That's interesting to contemplate. The life of Francis. You might find it utterly amazing.. I enjoy your posts, and hope you will come back.
