One should know, in his own heart, if there is room for evil. That's part of God's design. There are millions of people who believe in more than one god, or in Satan. I only believe in one God and reject the idea of a Satan ever existing. If you think about it, what would be wrong with the concept of NOT having an evil power lurking around you all the time (except, unfortunately, the two legged kind)!
