James, this isn't a private club, or clique, at least I don't think so, and sincerely hope not.

From what I've read it is a very good group of people and each brings
his/her experience and insights to the whole.

Having said that I can't imagine that anyone would treat it as their private fiefdom/domaine.

Furthermore, through this site and others I have been able to join other strings and download all sorts of interesting stuff. As Shirley, herself, said, none of this was available until recently. One can become highly informed about a situation without going out the front door.

So, please don't be intimidated by anyone, (I certainly won't!!) and feel free to share your knowledge, and ask questions.

This is not a popularity contest - I certainly have not set out to rub anyone the wrong way, but if I make a statement (which is perceived by one, (or some) to be pro-managment for example), and it ruffles some feathers, well, so be it! With bells on!. What is this group supposed to be anyway - an anti-managament encounter session?
Hardly!

In fact I don't even know any of the management of this company.
But I have been there before - I was once in the management of a group of mining and oil and gas companies. For part of this time I was the guy dealing with brokers, shareholders, doing press releases, etc., etc. We didn't have the internet then of course - far from it.

All of us had shares in most of the companies, so we couldn't help being part promoter. It's the way of the world. So PFG are acting with restraint - I'm sure they are itching to get news out - but their agreement with Barrick imposes restrictions on them

I have also been, for a long time, an investor, speculator, and avid follower of the market. I'm as aware as any of the light side and the dark one (to coin a phrase!) I've had my share of fizzes and fizzles.

I have some empathy for Tom Strake, especially with the Company Discussion Forum. Do you set this sort of thing up, and turn the other cheek when you see your company being trashed? I think not. You defend your turf, and get rid of some of the offending material. It's your right, but it's always a judgement call.

I assume we are not participating in this group, because we think it is run by a group of Howe Street rogues?. Most of the present group would have moved on long ago. The facts speak otherwise. There are lots of these rogues out there, but not here - at least I don't think so

Running through the thread at times seems to be a lack of awareness of how much it is possible for the management of a junior to be unaware of the intentions of a senior (Barrick). Am I ruffling feathers again? It's the truth dear people!

Waiting is frustrating, and I haven't been waiting long at all.

Good luck!
