Actually, after looking at Amazon's earning statement,
even VIVUS had better fundamentals than Amazon. At
least they were already making money before the competition
hit the market. The "multi-billion" impotence market
would feature VIVUS as its leading cure-all. Now we
have the "multi-billion internet book market" with
AMZN as the "dominant player". A look at their earning
statement reveals that all seven quarters (since going
public) have had a new record for losses. As I understand
it they operate from the third floor of a building with
150-200 people. 1.5 Million books is a miniscle amount
in the sea of books. There are several out-of-print
book sites on the net with 3-4 Million titles.
