David, I could be wrong, but I think it was John Lazlo at Paine Webber who pulled the plug before "Kurlak Wednesday" on MU. He lowered his numbers either that Monday or Tuesday.

Far from lowering his rating, if memory serves me correct Niles pulled a reiteration after Phase I of Kurlak's "August Surprise" (I think on the charts that's where it rallies from about 42 to 48 before succumbing) and like a total dope actually kept it as a "buy" all the way down to the low 20's before lowering it on 12/15, the day before they reported the Nov Q.

Niles watched it fall from 60 to 22-23 before lowering his rating - right at the bottom.

I think it's just grand that it's taken Dan Niles this long to figure out that yes, long-term, when the Asian players are slowing or stopping expansion, that's probably a good thing. I'd argue that the problem for Niles is that it's already in the price. The pop today is "event trading".

Not that it really matters <g>

Good trading,

Tom
