Taiwan Masterlink sets United Micro warrants

TAIPEI, March 4 (Reuters) - Taiwan Stock Exchange said on
Wednesday that Masterlink Securities <6006.TWO> had applied to
issue 20 million American-style stock call warrants on United
Microelectronics Corp (TW:2303).
The warrants, after the expected approval by regulators,
would be listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange, officials said.
Each warrant would be equal to one share of United
Microelectronics Corp, officials said.
Details of the Taiwan Masterlink's warrants are as follows:

And THAT is the problem. The Japanese are very sensitive to political pressures from US and will stop. LG, Samsung and Hyundai will probably continue full bore until they are REALLY stopped, as in total control of semi or until they go belly up. And until now and looks like for the next round too, their strategy has been unstoppable, with the money for the next round even ponyed up by the US taxpayers.

After memories, they will go after foundry/logic. And not even mighty Intel is safe if they start doing below cost foundry for AMD and Cyrix ....
