I also enjoy Duncan's posts, alan, even though my political views are often different from his. I enjoy many of the posts here--particularly the ones which are hilariously funny, or offer something of substance to discuss--except for the ones where people are competing for a particular post number, a sport the point of which I somehow just don't get.

Although Janice sometimes adopts the royal "we", she does apparently speak for the confederacy of dunces. Janice is a most likely Stalinist at heart, her objective is to stifle thoughts not adhering to her own stance. Much of the contemporary left is the same in their opposition to free speech. Remember Janice had no problem when Surething posted a phony communication that had me admitting to: finding him erotic wearing women's underwear being homosexual being a transvestite prostitute wanting to have sex with the President having oral sex with Rush Limbaugh wanting sex with him (Surething) Janice did not find that distasteful. Remember that Janice actually defended his statements! Btw, I engaged in that Hiss discussion precisely because the plain fact is that few, other than committed Stalinists, still believe that Hiss is not guilty. Janice refused to concede that and actually asserted that Chambers was the worse of the two!

Re: Duncan's poll numbers I find the reasoning and research behind his posts to be top notch. Keep posting Duncan. That being said, the jury is still out (for me) on the posting of a private message by Dunc from Sure thing, which I must admit I am having a time of it trying to find for lack of time, primarily. I've already offered a response to ST's, so nuf said. But Dunc's grasp of history, logic and access to great info makes him an asset to the thread. That's it for my ra ra section. But now in the word's of that great Amerian Roddney King, Can't...Can't we all...Just get along. The over all tone between the combatants of late have taken a noted down ward trend. One might well wonder where the civility has gone and should the sides meet opposite a table how long before a shooting war would break out betwixt the two. It's a terrible thing to wittness, what would the children say. Therefore, let fact speak for themselves and the lack of logical argumentation founded on reason and truth convict the opponent of folly and bring down the banner of their cause. Then will the rhetoric of the frailer of the sides fall by the sword of words more noble and not by useless epithet which sullies the user thereof. Back to your corners ye fine fellows and females, and let's have a clean fight! jim, on the right side of the room.
