You have to admit that it has been the Left that removed the primary importance of the three R's in early education.

I recall seeing "60 Minutes" not long ago where they showed how California spent hundreds of millions on a new way to teach math that did not teach how to arrive at the correct answer. That was not considered important.

What does this have to do with the Left? California's been governed by conservatives for quite some time now.

I am puzzled by your insistence on reducing everything to ideology.

Duncan, you are preaching to the already converted. The public school system is a perfect example of letting good intentions, warm and fuzzy thoughts get in the way of results. There are countless districts in this country where the parents should be charged with child endangerment and abuse for allowing their kids to attend these schools.
