Sam,

I realize the difference. However, your use of "expire worthless"
is incorrect. They would "expire worth 2 million" or in SC case
at least 25million. Also if you didn't "pick up the phone" I'm
sure AOL would find someone who would and maybe put a small bonus
in your paycheck (Oops, we are still supposed to be unsure that you
work for AOL! (vbg)). After all AOL is in dire need of capital infusion.

I have never yet heard of a case when stock option grants that were
well in the money were just left to expire. In cases when the owner
neglects them the company extends them or otherwise finds a way to
deal with the situation rationally.

The key point is that Case's options were not about to expire any time
soon.
