OK Darrell, thanks. Since Dell has passed CPQ in market cap, at that 200% rate Intel will be next....

Good luck to you in any event,
John

INTC will likely help tank ALL tech / pc stocks initially. Smart money should realize that INTC's problem is not necessarily DELL-related. DELL's higher end focus is not where INTC is hurting, it is the low end. INTC emphasized its rush to production of cheaper chips for entry level machines ... the very machines utilizing so many AMD and CYRX / NSM chips today. It appears to be a bloodbath in the so-called sub-$1,000 market amongst the chipmakers and the retail boxmakers (CPQ warned, too). Contrast that with DELL announcing major plans for expansion in China and in Austin within the last few days. DELL's outlook is tremendous ... others a whole lot smarter than me should see this, too. Hang tight tomorrow.

Darrell,

thank you. The sweet thing about DELL is that even if one did buy at the high of 143 or so, and the stock goes down the next week by 10 by 14 points or so, we know: if we just hold, we will be a LOT wealthier by the end of the year.

IMO one of the functions this thread does admirably is to provide insight and detailed knowledge of the company's operations so new investors and new shareholders have the knowledge they need not to panic when the stock price takes a dip. As long as we know DELL is unique within the industry, the longterm holders can view the future with equanimity.

IF I had known that INTC was going to issue a pre-announcement, I would certainly have sold DELL today, so I would have more money tomorrow to buy it back. I didn't. But being long, I don't have to worry about it. I am still going to beat the market average by a bunch just holding DELL this year.

Regards, 3.
