I'm not claiming that people waiting for the new bus are the primary cause of Intel's shortfall but I do think it is a contributor to some degree. How much....who knows?? Keep in mind that some consumers want the latest and greatest even if they don't need it or understand it. Some people will wait for 100Mhz just because they have heard that it's the latest and greatest and it's right around the corner. I also think some people are waiting for Win 98 to buy new PC's. Furthermore, it would seem to me that IT departments looking to upgrade servers would be waiting for faster CPU and bus speeds which are close at hand.
