I believe that Champion has in the past argued that's the problem with extraction of metals from the dirt's was the energy necessary to realize "transmutation" of the rarified species (atomic allotropic form, (whatever that is)). More energy cost may be required than the value of the metals recovered. What's going on here? Who knows, but I believe there is some "special" physical behavior occurring. Many special case behavior, like cold fusion, high temperature superconductivity, and zero point energy, occur in nature. Unlike the patent office proclamation in mid 1800s that everything that can be invented has been invented, we know better. There is clearly something in this "transmutation". However, the physics and significance is yet to be determined IMO.
