Why does Datek have a quantity spot on there order form. You never get it. This week I have a 20 shr fill and a 6 shr fill and 9.99 commissions to go with it. Also datek sits on orders and you get filled at lower prices when and if you get matched with an island buyer. Also have you noticed your order will sit when a stock is moving up even if you put a limit order above the ask but as soon as the stock turns your instantly filled. Also you will get filled instantly on any stock that is selling off if your buying. yesterdays example. stock is 10 3/16x 10 1/4 I put in limit sell @10 100 share buyer available at 10 3/16 on island. 7 sec 100 shares are filled left with 700 next island buyer is at 10 1/16. the bid fluctuated between 10 1/8 and 10 3/16 for next 3 min no fill until the bid dropped to 10 1/16 where it was filled. They had 3 min to get me the prevailing price and they didnt. This is common.

Good luck to all of us we need it
Bill

Tai, Many brokers charge an extra 1 cent per share for going over 5,000 shares in total for a particular stock.

For example, If I buy 5000 shares of DUM at National Discount, I pay 19.95 for a limit order. If I then put in an order to buy another 5000 shares, I have to pay an additional $100 (1 cent for each share purchased).

If I understand you right, a trade that will cost me $119.95 at NDB would cost me $19.90 at Datek. Am I right?

Thanks, Tom
