THANKS TO ALL....IT WORKS!!!

I really want to thank everyone who jumped in here to encourage me and offer ideas/suggestions to get the QP demo to work. It took 3 e-mail exchanges with the techie today, but we got it to work. Actually, it was a very technical problem...they had to figure out what phone number to have me plug into the dialer!

After that, I just clicked away tonight like I knew what I was doing and got 13 days of missing files to bring the demo up current through today (Mar 5).

That brings up a question I will pose here. This download was for 88 symbols in the demo. It was also for 13 days. Total time, just about 5 minutes on the dot. That's not very fast. So, for you folks who are attempting to download the market each night, how long does that take? Do you do it over the phone or on the net? I still don't know how to do it on the net, but suppose that will be shared when I buy the program and subscribe...which I'll get done by this weekend.

Another question. I went to the "Scan Database" area and chose the one they suggest for the demo: find new highs/lows after 40 days. The scan ran very fast on the 88 symbols and I was impressed with that. I am wondering about these scans. Do I have to have all the symbols in my database and on my drive to do this. Is there a way to do a scan on data that is only on the Q+ base and not on my machine? Hope that's clear enough.

At any rate, it looks like I've cleared a major hurdle, thanks to all of your help. Onward and upward! Ken
