I was thinking about this some more - to be technical, I suppose PFG would sell their 30% interest in the holding company, ie, their shares in same. So it may depend on the domicile of the company which holds the 30% interest. PFG may hold this interest through a company domiciled in a tax haven.

I'll read the press releases about AQP, these sorts of things are always interesting precedents. A bid for Wilanour (WLR) seemed (to me at least) to come right out of the blue. A nice surprise for the shareholders. Pity I sold all of mine years ago!

As you may have seen from my posts I am also a shareholder of CBI, another Barrick funded situation. The hasn't been a great deal of drilling yet, (assaying I should say too) and my feeling has been that there should be more results published before a possible bid from Barrick. The AQP history may suggest otherwise.

Of course the KRY situation is a gamble on ownership rights the chart is one of the most hairy out there. It would be ideal for a straddle of some kind, AQP and PDG options - except for the time premium business , and also the fact that the deposit is everything to KRY and not really material to PDG in the overall picture
