The K6-3D instructions are only useable for single precision floating point, and, so far, I haven't heard of any compiler support for them. That will probably eliminate their use in typical office applications such as spreadsheets (need double precision) and word processors.

A believe the Direct-X support may speed up presentation graphics using mpeg video, but chances are nothing in Winbench 97 or 98 will be affected by it.
