Good post from Elliott over at Yahoo:

The zdnet article was about the "100 top connected cities" in the US.

If you read between the lines - here's my take:

They are concerned with the "METRO" areas - and not the FCC definitions of a area. Makes sense to me.

They rate #1 San Fran pop-730K
#7 Bost pop-558K
#8 NYC pop-7300K
#9 Chicago pop-2720K
#11 Denver pop-448K

They also say the NYC with its 2.3 million internet users drawfs anywhere else - Why so high - well maybe because about 2.5 million people flood into the city every day from the burbs to work in all those big companies. And they also said that the present connection options in the New York City suck (my words, not theirs).

Ok, I may be a little biased - but just look at the numbers - then what the total dollars are for Bost and Chicago etc. and please remember that the NYC area was not placed in auction - so if you start evaluating metro NYC at maybe seven to 10 times metro Bost. or metro San Fran - you begin to see the picture.
