And the reason is because the PC vendors are not willing to give a different choice to the concumers. But why? Because the consumer does not want anything else! But why? I don't think this is an uneducated mass problem. You can expect every people to learn everything and become expert on every aspect of their life. You are a computer science major or work in a computer industry, so you know more about computers, OSs, etc. But do you expect that you will be a more educated people in accounting so you could do all the tax yourself, in law so you could defend yourself best, in political so you could choose the best president next time?
