Um, how in the world could AAPL merger news, unless it was MSFT, INTC or LU doing the merging, be positive for this stock right now? I would think that the company would have to post at *least* three consecutive profitable quarters before investors (that's investors, not traders) were comfortable with such a move.

I don't like the sound of it one bit. Unless Jobs can convince me that such a merger is part of a coherent, sensible (and, heaven forbid, PROFITABLE) strategy, it's a red herring.

Apple seems to be doing pretty well all by itself this past week.
