Within the next three to six months, the truth will be apparent. I suspect that Dell will do very well this year, because after a year's worth of bragging about how BTO would cancel Dell's advantage, Compaq is proving BTO doesn't work. Dell wins. It is just a matter of time before everyone realizes it. Direct sales isn't the whole PC market, but it is big and growing rapidly. Dell dominates this market. Compaq and others haven't been able to crack it with BTO, and they can't go direct because it will kill their retail sales. Monday be dammed, lets celebrate!
