Phil,

The April issue of Byte Magazine reports 300 Mhz G3 in Q2, 450 Mhz copper interconnect G3 in Q4, and G4 in early 1999. This should keep Apple as fast as Intel through the first half of 1999. If the G4 is as Powerful as IBM's new Power3 CPU, it may even give the Merced a run for its money.

It's looking like killing off the clones was a good move. Although I don't think Apple has a chance of increasing market share, with the help of IBM and MOT they should be able to retain much of their current base and sell all of the systems going into that market.

Anyone know when Apple will enter the $800 market?

Pravin.
