Shane, thanks for the great article... I'm going put a link to it on the Ericsson thread.

If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times... the "religious" fanatics can debate GSM vs. CDMA until they're blue in the face, I just want to make money. Both systems will almost certainly make a large amount of money in wireless telecom., but every credible estimate I've seen shows GSM continuing to have a larger installed base for at least the next 5 years.

Fact: companies producing GSM systems are making LOTS of money... NOW.

Strongly indicated: companies producing GSM products will continue to make LOTS of money in the near (1-5 year) term.

Conclusion: if LSI makes a GSM chip that is desired by the GSM manufacturers, they should make a LOT of money.

Secondary effect: if LSI makes a lot of money, my shares should be worth a lot more.

Tertiary effect: if my shares are worth a lot more, I am not going to care who won the battle for wireless telecom supremacy, because my portfolio will have won the war.
