jmac, obviously you don't pay any attention to posts put in here in response to your or other people's posts. Yesterday, in response to your rant about why Intel didn't come out with their earnings warning earlier, I posted a reason why they probably did the best communication they could about the situation, when they did. You can look back on my profile, if you want, for that posting of mine. I'd URL it, but this particular computer I'm on right now won't let me change screens at all for some silly reason. However, as far as your allusion, or whatever, in your posts, that you may try to sue Intel for the way they announced this earnings shortfall, good luck. Intel lawyers will have you for lunch. You not only have no leg to stand on, but you also are completely out to lunch. (Is that redundant?). Yes, but you are still completely OTL.

Well, jmac, I've been expecting just such an announcement from Intel for several months. Combination of margin pressures due to sub 1000k computers / competition from AMD & Natl Semi/Cyrix, and demand pressure due to Compaq's channel stuffing problems coming to a head now.

Tom Kurlak, as well as Herb Greenberg (formerly the SF Chronicle, now theStreet.com) saw the same thing coming, the later recently.

If you didn't, is it just perhaps your own judgment that is a bit faulty?

And Intel should be a poor investment on the fundamentals for some time to come as well. As I said here often enough several months ago.

(Trippled my money in Intel from Jan 96 to winter 97, traded a bit since.)
