Jim the same kind of data error that fouls up mainframe computers also appears in embedded systems the computer chips that that control all kinds of machines, including elevators, ATMs and traffic signals.

According to Giga Information Group in Cambridge, Mass.
The good news is that probably only 5% of these embedded chips are date sensitive and thus subject to Y2K failure.
The bad news is there will be an estimated 25 billion chips at work on the planet on Jan. 1, 1999.

Millions of chips must be tested and, if necessary, replaced. When faced with a date beyond 1999, a non compliant computer system may shut down, or worse, the system may continue operating but give out inaccurate information.

Two major banks that are ahead of the game to become Y2K compliant are BankBoston(BKB) and First Union(FTU).

The Standish Group International, a consulting firm in Dennis, Mass. estimates that US companies will spend a total of 440 billion on Y2K problems.

Jim, there is a wealth of information on SI on TAVA. I agree with you that this company does have potential and the latest news release regarding their KO deal is more potential rather than $$$$$$$.

TAVA's Y2K work so far has been pilot stage work. If TAVA is successful on these initial programs they stand to reap HUGE contracts in the near future. Their earnings release in Feb. was concidered dissapointing by Wall Street because TAVA has yet to prove that it will cash in on the Y2K problem. It sure looks interesting
and exciting. Once this co. proves that it has the goods it could easily be a five bagger.
