Elroy, ask Pulling GS's or David L, or Dick Smith. Keep in mind the prices have dropped and new model is coming out.

A new model is coming out, and the older models are being discounted. If you're willing to settle for the "older" model, get a "Pro" version, with 1MB memory and a backlight.

Elroy,

PalmPilot is great....I love mine. But......
As was pointed out a new one is going to be out in about a month...but from what I hear in the first few reviews is that it has not changed much....the most notable difference is the addition of an IR port for exchanging data with other users. Distance is limited to about 4 feet. And you can not hot-sync (load data) from your PC. It is only Palm-to-Palm. Sucks if you ask me. The new PalmPilot needed an integrated modem. 3Com could'nt deliver that one.

All software is basically the same as well. The new unit does have 2 Meg of Flash memeory though. That is good. Price will be 399.

Currently you can get Palm Personals (512K RAM) for $199. I saw $189 at the local Office Depot.

you can get the pro (1Meg) for about $289 now.

Here is a review of the new Palm Pilot:
