If you believe in < $1,000 boxes then why not < $20 stock.

Seriously, I don't think Eckhard's ego allowed him to believe that the demand curve could flatten as it did. Also, I believe CPQ is losing it on the marketing end. Would you buy Dell or CPQ? Did you read SmartMoney's article reviewing laptops--Dell was first and Compaq a dismal last. Their product was really panned and they raved about Dell's support. My brother-in-law is a salesman for a large food service company. He lugs a laptop around all day. He won't let go of his Dell. Its like my old Volvo--it won't die!

I like Compaq, but I wouldn't buy one. Would you?

John...their reason for having split this stock is an absolute mystery to me. CNBC had EP and/or Mason on one day and when asked why they split it, he said.." we like to see/keep the stock @ 35." Other than that, your guess is as good as mine. Stephen
