The best strategy for these newsletter writers is to wait a couple of months after their write up and check with the COMPANY to see what is going on. If everything is ok and you like the story you can buy the stock without competition and at (usually) lower prices. Drill results always take longer than expected it seems.

bbruin,

Your commentary: << I did not blindly follow BB's picks (OK, except 1 when I ripped the fax alert from the machine, bought the stock within 30 seconds and made $0.50/share in 20 minutes. A self-fulfilling prophesy? Of course, but I only have so much will power not to try something like that once!) Most of the time, I would get the picks, phone my geologist broker and we'd make a decision. I can't remember 1 in which we didn't make money.>>

I have been a follower of Bob's advice for a number of years, but always have the same problem. In order to get a decent return on these stocks, you have to buy quite a few thousand shares. At the commission rates charged by most discount brokers that deal in Canadians to U.S. citizens, $.50 profit doesn't net much if anything most of the time. Do you have a broker here in the U.S. whose commissions are low enough to allow 5-10,000 shares or more to be traded without the commissions eating up the profit? Would appreciate any info.

<< My only (but big) mistake was in being a greedy pig and not cashing my chips in sooner. >>

Join the crowd!! I watched my B.B. portfolio drop from U.S.$500,000 to $163,000. in six (6) months for just that same reason. Stupid me, stupid me!! I should have just watched my 10/20 day MA charts and pulled the trigger, but greed overcame me. Never again... I hope <G>.

Thanks for any info and best wishes,

Marty
