Your post is true and the "sophisticated computer literate buyers" are those in business and government upon whom Dell has built their model. The volume buyers go to DELL and even the first time buyer is more sophisticated then you think. Folks are quite comfortable w/ buying "mail order" and increase purchases w/o any flesh and blood (read: time consuming)in their face each day. If people buy lots of clothing from Lands End why would they be shy of buying computers from DELL? If you say the size of the purchase, then all the more reason to discover the positive and excellent experience of dealing w/ DELL. As I said earlier, DELL is the AMZN, although has a proven track record, of computer selling to the public and business. Tell us, King, if you were going to buy a computer today, how would you do it and which brand would you choose?

IK,

That 'helpful on site rep' doesn't come for 'free' to the purchaser! (How much support cost can be 'built' in for $899?) If they can't set up their machine, it is better to find somebody who has one to help! Oh, yeah! The person down the way got a DELL, I'll check with them before I buy! Answer, If you by a DELL I'll help you set it up! One DELL coming up!

Regards,

Ken
