OT: Yes you are right this is off topic. I could not resist in light of my earlier post I suppose. The behavior of the market is pretty crazy these days. CPQ might be a good stock but the market is not healthy. Short term cpq has every incentive here to try to undercut dell and make things worse for everybody. I have not looked at this in detail but it seems that the effects of the Asia situation have not shown up yet. This does not mean that they will not. The pricing situation is such that memory is pretty much screwed. They can complain about dumping all they want but cpq is talking about lowering prices even more to stimulate demand and that means that they are going to do their best to keep their component prices down. If they succeed in a price war against dell cpq may well come out a very strong company. Again the market is what I am talking about here.

Hate to suggest this Bill, but could it be the reasons to upgrade are declining?
I don't think most of the current applications require a 300 MHz processor -
after all one can only blink their eyes so fast.

Another fact is that networked traffic is also a limiting factor,
not much reason to run nitro in a congested urban environment.
