Robbie - Re: "how do you think Compaq's problems will play out? "

I'm not really an expert on Compaq but I'd guess that after a bad quarter (Q1) they will experience additional problems in Q2 with profitability - due to continued declines in PC pricing as they try to flush their glutted pipelines and no immediate way to reduce costs.

Then when the DEC acquisition is completed - Q3 or Q4 (I'm not sure), they will invariably begin deep write-offs of DEC's assets, shut down DEC divisions which compete with Compaq - PCs, notebooks, and again face poor or negative earnings. Too bad for Massachusetts - the Celtics will have some company in the bad news department.

Other than that, things look real good for Compaq!!!???

I hope Pfeiffer loves all those little MediaGX and K6 chips that bring him so much profit!
