Parade Of Longs... Hype or Truth???

You mean to tell me that only shorts try to convince others of their take on a stock. Come on, folks soap box on each side. Take this forum for what it is.

<< Whenever anyone tries to oversell a point positive or negative they usually have an axe to grind; a selfish axe... Readers of this thread should be very leery of these prolific posters >>

Oh really? I just like to verbally wrestle with you guys. I would make just as much money quietly shorting FIBR and going on about my business.

Go read the GIFS thread, I argued with those thick skulled investors for several months before the company was raided by law enforcement and the CEO became a fugitive from justice. It was a BB stock so I couldn't even short it. I just argued for months because it was an interesting scam story. I told those guys to watch out for GRNO and it is worthless now too.

My final warning, just weeks before the management became fugitives from justice:
techstocks.com

Less than 2 weeks after my final warning post the SEC posted on SI their halt of the stock.

Go ahead and read a few posts after the first link I listed. Notice how everyone hates me and thinks I am trying to scare everyone out of their shares. They said the exact same thing that many on this thread say. You could go back for thousands of posts and find me battling with those people for months.

Here are the same arguments I make on this thread:
This was about 4-5 months before the scam fell apart.

(me speaking)
"The only thing GIFS is selling is a load of hype. I'm not sure $100 million will = $5/share. It's obvious that shares are being dumped on the market. Shares, shares shares! That's all I hear. Secondaries, private placements, 5% stock dividends, stock swaps, (who knows maybe some Reg S also). After all is said and done GIFS may have 100 million outstanding. That would make this bogus offer worth $1 share. Pay close attention next time GIFS releases earnings. See if they list current shares outstanding. They didn't in their last report. In fact they didn't break down any of their results in the news release. They just said something to the effect of .04/share and all operations were profitable. Yeah, maybe all operations are profitable on an operating basis before taxes, interst expense, charges, (whatever). Also if GIFS want's to get on the Nasdaq or Amex so bad why don't they buy some piss poor company already listed there. It's much easier than F****** around with applications and $3/share requirements. I've got more to say but I'll save it for later since I am running on.

Just remember the market always reflects the true situation. Don't fight the tape."

"Every thread seems to have at least one person who is bent on tearing down without offering anything constructive. Craig Crawford is one of these sorts"
Message 1229343

"Marc, I can appreciate your good will and desire to answer Craig's remarks. I will suggest that we stay on course and continue the analysis and research. I believe that true holders can read his posts and if they need help or have questions, then we should act. This will save a large amount of valuable time for us. We need you on course, and not distracted by argument at this time. It is in his best interest to waste your time, not ours."
Message 1229417

"ADVISORY: This is going to get very technical and probably long. I recommend you read Congress Sale Part II (I recently re-posted it for your viewing pleasure)first. Additionally, my analysis of the deal is in direct conflict of Mr. Crawford (surprise, surprise), so I expect to get hammered from him. Don't worry, I can handle it. I have nothing against Crawford, it's just that he does not understand the theory of the discounted time value of money. No big deal. Personally, I think he should learn about it as it may help him in the long run. Again Craig, I am not critical of you -- you bring up some good points and provide somewhat of a different opinion. That is needed here. I am critical, though, of you throwing numbers out that make no sense at all."
Message 1231911

"And Craig, bless his soul, will surely yell at people and call us idiots and give more of his numbers"
Message 1232284

"Also, I suggest that a limited number of posts are inconclusive about Julia's motives. Because of people like Craig C., Diver, Lou S. and others across a handful of threads in which I participate, it is far too easy and too common to assume the worse"

"YES, YOU COULD SAY MORE...LIKE GIVE SOME SUBSTANTIAL EVIDENCE TO BACK UP YOUR INSINUATIONS. WHAT IS YOUR INTERSET IN THIS STOCK? ARE YOU A SHAREHOLDER?"
Message 765966

"Touche - seems this stock and thread attract the types to make a quick buck and scare the pants off the honest investor. Stick to the math. Let's not encourage the deviant 2 handed types to post here..."
Message 766360

"Again people the same old crap. Gifs has great news and in comes someone to spread seeds of doubt. Unsubstantiated claims. Also the statement "Don't fight the tape". Well we're not, were going with the tape +22% gain today. I suggest we all roll with the tape.

C'mon look at his posts and you will see it's just garbage. We know this is a good stock and the recent and upcoming events will prove us out. We almost got suckered once by the negative hypers. "Fool me once shame on you, Fool me twice shame on me"
Message 766923

"Craigy, Craigy, Craigy that's why I kept doubling down my shares. Investment 101 through investment 901. The company is doing fantastic financially, and when Mr Zayed and Mr. Rehtorik finish their 15 city tour on the promotion of the stock, even you can figure out whats next."
Message 767057

"Tell me what other stocks are you shorting so that I can buy into them when they announce their earnings. My new strategy is to buy into good companies beaten down by threads not official news and then watch them rebound when the OFFICIAL news/earnings comes out positive."
Message 767285

"John that is exactly what shorters try to do. Batter down then ride the wave up. However, people on this thread have gotten whole lot smarter with the recent events of slander on this thread.

John, just read Craig's posts and you will see his true intentions."
Message 767314

"Craig, we got the point - I'm tired of reading your lame posts. We
can all read the charts."
Message 767924

"Craig....your next response might be something more creative....
like "oh yeah"........why can't we all just get along....and let my
INVESTMENT in GIFS grow like daisy's in the spring rain......it could happen....and all indicators to me look like I stand a pretty good chance of making some decent $$$$$$$ on it.....cya"
Message 767994

"Mark, I don't mind Craig so much. He's obviously negative, and we've heard most of what he's saying (and he's probably Des or Caroline), but he reminds me of things I need to think about. And then, to top things off, everyone gets into such an uproar, and I'm reminded of why I want to keep the stock."
Message 769666

"3) Everyone keeps asking but you are not saying....Do you have any proof (hell I'll even accept a credible rumor) that GIFS is lying or "cooking" the books?"
Message 770400

"Craig, most of us already have the answers to your questions. If you
are so interested in the CEO - you ask him the questions. I personally
think he is to smart to sell at these low prices. He might sell a
few shares next year when the stock is selling at $20-$30 per share.
It sounds like you are the flattered one with the big secrets."
Message 799633

"Craig,

It is better to let everyone think you are a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
Do you like throwing mud in fans? What is your point? Why do you keep posting your nonsense to this thread? Please go bother some other thread.
You keep saying "Listen to the tape", "don't fight the tape". I don't know what tape your talking about because the GIFS tape is up at least the past three days and today's low did not go below the today's open.
Why do you make unfounded claims about someone you don't even know?
Go ahead and post a reply but do not expect a reply from me. From now on when I see Craig Crawford I'll hit the skip key"

"Man are you smart or what??? Not only can you read a tape and make great, unsubstantiated claims, but you also have the time (even though you are a busy super-smart investor) to play postmaster and count the number of responses on a thread for a stock that you obviously need to move down.....I am impressed with your virtual presence here....and just wish you'd quit telling all of us dummies how stupid we are....as far as the " short " in your signoff.. I assume you mean a few cards "short" of a full deck..... a few bricks "short" of a full load.......when God said brains...you thought he said trains and replied give me a short one.....GO AWAY...... the Comedy Channel has useless dribble 24 hours a day should we really need some"
Message 800424

"I agree a lot of the other items you listed are fair reasons to at least do a hmmmmmmmm about GIFS. But your last item that the CEO should worry about the business and not the stock price is not realistic."
Message 809913

"I grew tired of reading the negative posts made by the GIFS bears these last few months, so I let myself get sucked in to making a few posts being the GIFS bull that I am. I have nothing against your investment style or your skepticism in GIFS, you just happened to be the latest GIFS bear to post."
Message 812968

This is one from me (sound familiar????????)

"BTW, What does Mr. Rhetorik mean by 'some' have been bought back?
10 Shares? 10,000? 100,000? Why won't they release the specific figure? Also, they don't think that their stock is worth re-purchasing above $2? If GIFS is so undervalued, then buying at $3/share would bring returns in faster than trying to turn around
near bankrupt companies."
Message 819167

"There you go again seeing the half empty glass. [It PAYS TO SEE THE GLASS HALF EMPTY!!!!] I must admit you got me thinking on this one. You pretty much answered your own question. They couldn't purchase GIFS because it is not for sale. And look at it this way, why would Mohamed sell everything for 117 million when he could sell one part for 117 million and keep everything else. Besides it is very logical to think that the buyers didn't want the rest of GIFS. It isn't their core business."
Message 827283

"When I talked to Mike Rhetorik about two months ago he stated that GIFS was well in the buyback but would not say how much. Two months later, GIFS must be very well into the buyback. The more GIFS is holding the better for this stock."
Message 827408

Same crap I hear on this thread!!!

"The negative opinions on this thread are starting to be humourous. i remember the postings a while back that gifs did not own the 100 mil bond and total assets were only 10 mil or .49 per share. the sale of congress for 117 is eyed as being impossible now because who would pay so much for so little... unfortunately on this thread cash payments are even questioned... how selling assets that some did not think they owned for 117 mil can beconsidered a negative by these same people i do not know... others whine about why would anyone sell the core business. the price was right. congress was projected as .20 to .25 earnings and they now have a guarantied .58.
Message 829604

"The continous negative postings on this thread does NOT help the image of GIFS and certainly dampers the direction and attitude of the indecisive investor. Particularly newbies."
Message 829829

"I have invested in Genesis - not in their stock. I do not day trade, I am an investor. This means that I have researched the company, talked to their management and employees and I have decided to invest in them. That makes me a part owner. This is my motivation in participating in this thread. I am tired of people on this thread bashing the investors. Is the stock market there for the whim of the daytraders?
