How about a PSC1000 Java processor driven Toaster with the ability to turn the toaster on & off through a Java ring, remote control, or your computer from a room other than the kitchen or even outside your house or apartment........

Sure, and they make 100 million telephones each year, too. That's why the PGP1000 doesn't need to get a design win for an NC for them to do well. As for the stack architecture that's only interesting as far as it maps directly onto a Java Virtual Machine. From what I understand, you can't tell the difference between this chip and, say, a picoJava chip after a couple of beers.
