It seems to me though that the uncertainty is the duration of these pauses. At this point I do not think that the visibility is there. For a while it seemed that software could move along the lines of graphics capabilities. That seems to have stagnated a bit with the gaming angle. Intel did get involved in videoconferencing applications but again from Groves own comments this is insufficient justification for upgrading. I have not though sufficiently about video recognition but voice recognition sounds promising at first but raises doubts when thought about in more detail. Really it seems to me that a new paradigm will emerge here whereby pc cpu will be tied to internet bandwidth. If so it is unclear if cpu is ahead of the curve. There is nothing in this situation, it seems to me, to make one believe that the issue has already been resolved even in paper.
