Paul,
Re -- I have received private e-mail that indicates AMD's Fab 25 0.25 micron lots are achieving.

Any theories on why this plant in plant is sending these private emails to private investors on SI and not mortgaging the house and buying up bus loads of AMD stock?

Paul:

RE: "By the way - I have received private e-mail that indicates AMD's Fab 25 0.25 micron lots are achieving 80% yields on some lots - over 250 die per wafer. Wafer starts, however, haven't reached 1000 starts per week."

What is the reliability of your source?

Paul, thanks for the explanation of rocket lots. But I think you're pulling my leg on the 80% yields and 300-366 speeds.

Ordinarily, would you expect rocket lots to have lower yield because of processing shortcuts?

Paul , those yields sound good but ,
If they were getting up to 80% yield on rocket lots , do you think this stock would be selling at $20 or so ?
Brian

What I assume people mean by Rocket Lot is a wafer fab lot that has the highest priority at all times and at all process steps.

Paul,

Stop making poor assumption again. You're out of the loop (let go by Intel) too long. There is another one higher. I won't give it to you. I am sure you will dispense it to your buddies and they will turn more assumptions and glut this thread.
