Sonny-- I think todays INTC and DELL drop was due to CPQ and little or nothing directly related to them. CPQ will drop (from where?) if earnings are worse than expected. INTC should pick up a little but may have a little more downside,,, DELL should have blown through today on the split but may have a lot more downside IMO. As more warnings and disappointments are announced we will see volatility AND bargains in the techs. IMO the full effect of ASIA is still coming in many issues earnings and will effect the tech sector a bit harder but the mkt as a whole will notice. No big DOW/Nas drops are expected,,, just volatility and bargains on the block for a short period. These bargains may arrive more than once with the volatility so if one is missed just wait it will be back possibility or another will take its place. The only stabilization and steady rise possibility is in a lowering of the interest rate. As much as stabilization is wanted a continued rise helped by the fed will not happen. Many bargains will be seen based on the performance of sector issues not only on an individual basis--- news on a company will reflect on many. We may also see negative news have a much greater impact than the past and positive news have a lesser impact as investors await the other shoe to drop. Was a traders delight just described???
