Holly, my initial reaction to this imbroglio was one of disbelief, I thought I was being set up to take the spears of invective while Janice was serenely sunning herself on the Cote d'Azur, laughing at the effect her absence and minions were having. I was wrong about that latter part of the set up, she apparently has indeed been sanctioned. As I said before I have no problem with anyone stating what they think. I have dealt with incendiary types at SI once before. You see I had warned someone against shorting Disney sometime around last May and by December he was "losing it". So he threatened me by email, then turned me in to Jill and then threatened me again by email. I suspect that the SEC has ruled that SI is a public forum in its determination of whether it can extend regulation of speech by the government (SEC) that would otherwise violate the First Amendment. That does not mean SI, which afterall contracts with and limits posting to paying members, cannot pull the plug on anyone, especially with adequate warning and with cause. To be consistent, I would have to say that if Christine or anyone else who is a party to such agreement had violated that agreement, then she too "hanged" herself.
