I don't think everything Microsoft does is designed to protect or support VB. It's a fact which follows detailed observation, not a thought. You say that you're pointer proficient as though that means something. That's like saying you are integer proficient and so what? References eliminate the need for pointers and by implementing pointers in Java they are simply tying Java directly onto their own, legally protected, API sets while destroying the language. Ask Borland whether they enjoy having to license WINDOWS.H and ask them how Microsoft's proprietary Java will affect them going forward.

David, I have never seen any evidence that you think anything through. You make comments based on a micron-thick knowledge of the topic and sometimes I swear you are getting all of your information from a Microsoft marketing bulletin. I have no idea why you are invested in this company because they will not survive if Microsoft dominates with DCOM, Visual Basic and Microsoft Java. Sun, IBM and Oracle are not going to let that happen and you can thank your lucky stars that you don't know what you're talking about.
