Subject: RE: dell

The market has implied a certain amount of 'proximity effect' associated
with Compaq's message, but our dialogue has remained clear. Our model is
distinctly advantaged in Q1, when the market historically goes negative
(sequential growth) off of the peak in Q4. Dell's historical sequential
peak is in Q3, and we tend to grow at positive single digits --
historically speaking -- in Q1. Thus, some of the difference between our
positive, upbeat message and the Compaq story is attributable to the
difference in regular seasonality in the models.

I invite you to call me at 512-728-4243 to discuss this topic fully.

Thank you,

Frank Milano
