I would be more inclined to think the call would be used to keep the
institutional buyers aware of ongoing progress on the programs you mentioned.
The use of a conference call usually excludes the small shareholder.
If there was any major news I am sure it would be released over the wire
not at the conference call.

I would say this call is a result of seeing the decline in the share price
and wanting to stay on certain institutions screens. This also may be
coming as a result of a request from a large holder.
