Alan:

Don't leave Rockwell out of the mix. They're the biggest OEM supplier of modem chips, and have relationships with both LU and Nortel.

We had better hope that nothing happens to the LU/WSTL relationship. The way I see it, the CSCO acquisition of Netspeed was a major coup for CSCO and a bad blow to WSTL. CSCO selected the best technology out there today. With many major RBOCs having data backbones composed of CSCO equipment, Netspeed will leverage CSCO into a major ADSL player.
